Five To Keep Me Happy



This week has been really, really cold. Cold temperatures mean I'm staying in and not doing anything exciting. As such, my Five for Friday are things that keep me happy despite the cold. 

1. Morning workouts

I said I was going to try to work out in the morning come the new year. So far, I've been doing a good job of getting my butt out of bed an extra hour early and going to the gym. I feel more energized throughout the day too!

2. Having electricity

I was really, really lucky that during the ice storm, we had power. We still do. Hearing everyone's stories of what they had to go through without power makes me entirely more grateful that we didn't lose electricity. 

3. Work

I groan every morning that I have to get out of bed to go to work. I groan when I get bored and tired at work. At the end of the day though, I'm really happy I get to get to go to work in a warm and welcoming environment (literally and metaphorically). That ecard up there summarizes it well.

4. This random guy on the subway

He has a stick of deodorant sticking out of his jacket pocket. I don't know why but I find it hilarious. 

5. Warm weather

It actually warmed up today to a positive number! I was able to put on a lighter jacket this morning. It's kind of a big deal.

Remember when Ne-Yo was kind of a big deal?

  2. HAPPY FRIDAY!! I haven't been getting up and working out but I have been waking up almost an hour earlier and I can definitely tell and feel a difference. I have been able to get so much accomplished before work and I feel more energized as well. LOVE it! Have a great weekend friend!!

  7. we don't have a subway here, but the things I see people with on the bus make me giggle too.

    also I'm really jealous you're able to get up to workout in the am. i snoozed 6 times today. whoops.

    Ohh Alex, I feel your pain! I can't imagine being a functioning, regular human being in that sort of cold. I was only in it for 12 days and I didn't have to leave the comforts of the house too much. Good for you for getting up an hour earlier to work out. It is so hard getting out of bed in weather like that. The bed is just so warm and cozy and nearly impossible to leave....!

  15. Ain't a chance I'm getting up for an early morning workout! Used to be able to but now I value a sleep in too much! I prefer middle of the day workouts with the MILFs ;)
