This week has been really, really cold. Cold temperatures mean I'm staying in and not doing anything exciting. As such, my Five for Friday are things that keep me happy despite the cold.
1. Morning workouts
I said I was going to try to work out in the morning come the new year. So far, I've been doing a good job of getting my butt out of bed an extra hour early and going to the gym. I feel more energized throughout the day too!
2. Having electricity
I was really, really lucky that during the ice storm, we had power. We still do. Hearing everyone's stories of what they had to go through without power makes me entirely more grateful that we didn't lose electricity.
I groan every morning that I have to get out of bed to go to work. I groan when I get bored and tired at work. At the end of the day though, I'm really happy I get to get to go to work in a warm and welcoming environment (literally and metaphorically). That ecard up there summarizes it well.
4. This random guy on the subway
He has a stick of deodorant sticking out of his jacket pocket. I don't know why but I find it hilarious.
