Let's Be Thankful

One thing I really wanted to do this Thanksgiving was sit down and say all the things I was thankful for this year. Just as I was about to though, Andrew started shoveling food into his mouth, so I reluctantly kept quiet. Thankfully, I have a blog and I can share all the things I'm thankful for here!

When I reflect on this past year, this is what I'm most thankful for (in no particular order):

Pretending to be Hard at work

My job

I've been employed by some amazing people for the past two years. Although there are days I wish my job were a lot more challenging, I'm extremely thankful to be employed. Specifically in a position where they'd probably be fine without me.

Bad shot of it, but I love my little living room

My new apartment

Now that we're fully moved in, I don't miss my old, tiny apartment one little bit. It's so nice to have a bedroom and I'm thankful to have a little extra space in a really great neighbourhood.

September Ipsy and the review I still haven't had a chance to write

Ipsy

It sounds silly but I'm thankful that I can afford to get Ipsy in the mail every month (and that it ships to Canada!). It's so fun getting makeup in the mail! I'm also thankful that I have more makeup than I need (let alone use).

One of the many food items I tried this year: a Krispy Kreme burger

Food

If you've followed me for a while, you know I love food. You also know that I love dining at restaurants and bars. I'm very thankful I can do that. I'm also very thankful that when I want to stay home to eat, I can. My fridge and panty are always full. Maybe not with healthy food but it's food!

Blogging

It has almost been a year since I started blogging. It's been such an amazing experience and I've "met" some really amazing women. I'm thankful to have "met" you all and I'm thankful that you read about my little life!

One of my favourite pictures from our trip to Vancouver

Vancouver (and other flights)

I'm so thankful that I got to visit Vancouver this year. This has been on my Bucket List for a while. I'm even more thankful that when we visited Vancouver, we had perfect weather! I'm also thankful for all the other trips Andrew and I have gone one this year and that he's been able to fly us to many of them!

My health

Other than a couple little colds, I've been extremely lucky and made it another year without getting really sick (and without throwing up)! I'm quite thankful for that!

Kiss me!

Misty

Because how could I not be thankful for her?

One. My little brother and his "girlfriend." Check out the boy trying to cock block!
Two. Cotton candy with some dear friends!

My friends and family

This is to be expected, of course. Nonetheless, I'm thankful to have a father that isn't overbearing, a step-mom that I finally get along with, a little brother who still says "I love you" as well as patient, supportive and amazing friends.

One. How we normally look.
Two. Pretending to be "normal."

Andrew

Yes, he gets his own category. I'm thankful to have spent another year with this guy who drives me absolutely crazy sometimes but I love more than anything else.

There's lots of other things I'm thankful for but this sums it up nicely.

What are you thankful for this year?

Gobble Gobble & More Internet Woes

I'm always amazed at how quickly long weekends fly by! Now to get to my Thanksgiving weekend recap.

Friday.

I've pretty much committed to a 5k at the end of this month. In anticipation of this commitment (still to be confirmed), I decided to get my ass back in shape by going running with Misty. My first attempt at a run was at night. I think we were both a little spooked out by how dark the park gets at night, so my attempt was cut short.

Saturday.

Massive beer for a massive burger

My bestie, Kat, had this amazing idea to go to a buffet on Saturday. I'm all down for buffets. And for using coupons for said buffet. So, Andrew and I drove out to the middle of nowhere to meet Kat and her fiance for lunch. Just to get to the buffet place and find out it was closed. Like, out of business. Good job, Kat.

So, Andrew and I went out to eat elsewhere and met Kat and DK at our place later that night.

Beamer (Kat and DK's dog) is hiding as Andrew says hello to random dogs
But first, the four of us took the dogs to the park.

Then we came home and took way too many awkward pictures like this.

And somehow managed to get one normal one.

And made delicious red velvet white chocolate chip cookies before calling it a night.

Sunday.

Remember on Friday, when I said I still didn't have internet? I ended up cancelling my services with Distributel and went with a different company. That company said they'd be at my place on Sunday to set up my internet. Great! So, Sunday I waited at home. And waited. And waited. And guess what? That's right! THEY DIDN'T SHOW! I don't know why I've been having such bad luck with getting internet but this is seriously getting out of hand! My next appointment is for this Thursday evening. Wish me luck!

Monday.

I woke up bright and early to run with Misty at the park. It was a gorgeous morning! So gorgeous, that after running for only a tiny bit, Misty decided to take in the weather and roll around in the grass. Who can blame her?

I spent the rest of the day cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

I started things off with a nacho dip.

I think I have too much chips in my house..

Then followed it up with chicken, turkey breast, stuffing, green beans and mashed potatoes.

Completed by an apple bake (which was delicious; thanks Dad for all the apples!) and a store bought pumpkin pie (which was gross).

Andrew said I made way too much food since dinner was only for four people. I definitely made too much mashed potatoes (I made them last year and they were amazing. I think I added too many potatoes this year). But, I'd rather have too much food than not enough!

Back to work I go! Apologies, again, for lack of posts, comments and slow responses. I'll be back to "normal" when I finally have internet!
