Let's Be Thankful

One thing I really wanted to do this Thanksgiving was sit down and say all the things I was thankful for this year. Just as I was about to though, Andrew started shoveling food into his mouth, so I reluctantly kept quiet. Thankfully, I have a blog and I can share all the things I'm thankful for here!

When I reflect on this past year, this is what I'm most thankful for (in no particular order):

Pretending to be Hard at work

My job

I've been employed by some amazing people for the past two years. Although there are days I wish my job were a lot more challenging, I'm extremely thankful to be employed. Specifically in a position where they'd probably be fine without me.

Bad shot of it, but I love my little living room

My new apartment

Now that we're fully moved in, I don't miss my old, tiny apartment one little bit. It's so nice to have a bedroom and I'm thankful to have a little extra space in a really great neighbourhood.

September Ipsy and the review I still haven't had a chance to write

It sounds silly but I'm thankful that I can afford to get Ipsy in the mail every month (and that it ships to Canada!). It's so fun getting makeup in the mail! I'm also thankful that I have more makeup than I need (let alone use).

One of the many food items I tried this year: a Krispy Kreme burger

If you've followed me for a while, you know I love food. You also know that I love dining at restaurants and bars. I'm very thankful I can do that. I'm also very thankful that when I want to stay home to eat, I can. My fridge and panty are always full. Maybe not with healthy food but it's food!

It has almost been a year since I started blogging. It's been such an amazing experience and I've "met" some really amazing women. I'm thankful to have "met" you all and I'm thankful that you read about my little life!

One of my favourite pictures from our trip to Vancouver

Vancouver (and other flights)

I'm so thankful that I got to visit Vancouver this year. This has been on my Bucket List for a while. I'm even more thankful that when we visited Vancouver, we had perfect weather! I'm also thankful for all the other trips Andrew and I have gone one this year and that he's been able to fly us to many of them!

My health

Other than a couple little colds, I've been extremely lucky and made it another year without getting really sick (and without throwing up)! I'm quite thankful for that!

Kiss me!

Because how could I not be thankful for her?

One. My little brother and his "girlfriend." Check out the boy trying to cock block!
Two. Cotton candy with some dear friends!

My friends and family

This is to be expected, of course. Nonetheless, I'm thankful to have a father that isn't overbearing, a step-mom that I finally get along with, a little brother who still says "I love you" as well as patient, supportive and amazing friends.

One. How we normally look.
Two. Pretending to be "normal."

Yes, he gets his own category. I'm thankful to have spent another year with this guy who drives me absolutely crazy sometimes but I love more than anything else.

There's lots of other things I'm thankful for but this sums it up nicely.

What are you thankful for this year?

  1. This is a fun list!!! I need to resubscribe to Ipsy once I get this credit card paid off! :)

  2. a fantastic list!

and i love that you love your new apt and don't even think/miss your old one. this is how you know you have a home. in our first house, it didn't feel like home but with this house, i never want to leave to go anywhere which is how i know that this is home-home!

    Vodka and Soda

  3. I must get myself a subscription to Ipsy. Probably xtra $$ for shipping to Canada but who cares. :)

  4. This is such a nice list, you have so many great things to be thankful for! I'd love to see more photos of your new place, love how you decorated the living room so far!

  5. Love!! So many things to be thankful for!! Thankful for YOU!

  6. Great list:) I thought about doing this too but then I, forgot.. I like that you are thankful for not having thrown up last year. I think that is something to be thankful for too! I hate puking.. blech. Getting sick is the worst, can you imagine being sick all of the time? It would be so hard.
You did say you were thankful for food but I think we should all focus on how many times this past year, that you got to enjoy red velvet anything.. That's right, I'm bringing it up again.. because as many times as you got to eat it, I didn't.. so let's take a moment to be grateful...
I'm thankful for my family and that I get to be on maternity leave for another few months.. It's wonderful.

  7. Love your list! And I only heard of Ipsy yesterday and apparently I'm totally missing out!!!

  8. great list! it's good to look back sometimes and remember to be thankful for all the things in our lives. i can get grumpy sometimes but i need to remember that overall, i have it pretty great :)

  10. Great list. I am so thankful I stumbled upon your blog a few months ago!!

I also really need to look into this Ipsy thing. Are you always pleased with what they mail you?

I love comments. Thanks for making me smile!
