Friday.
A friend came over and kicked Andrew's ass in video games, while I sat back with a glass of wine and watched.
Saturday.
I
took my first Spin class and it kicked my butt. Literally. My butt hurt
so much after. So much so that it hurt to sit. Has anyone else taken
Spin? Has this happened to you?
We went to
Spoon and Fork for a friend's birthday. For those that don't know, Spoon
and Fork is an all-you-can-eat (off the menu) restaurant, which apparently is hard to
organize with a big group, particularly when there are people who don't
want all-you-can-eat. After a few bumps in getting things organized, we
were finally able to order. And order we did.
I didn't take a picture of all of our food because I was too busy stuffing my face, but you can imagine there was a lot.
Apparently I was the only one who had a nice enough camera on their phone to use for a group shot. Considering the pictures didn't come out very well, I find that hard to believe.
Oh, and shots happened at home at some point.
Sunday.
I met up with a friend for dinner. After having all-you-can-eat the night before, I really wanted something healthy, so we went to Fresh. She loved it. I loved it. We're going back again soon.
I hope you all had a nice weekend!
spin is awsome!! and yes, it's normal, esp if you have never taken spin before. it's a full lower body and core workout :)

YES my butt hurts sooo much afterwards if I don't go regularly! Not so much from the exercise part, but from sitting on that hard seat for an hour...ouch!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun weekend!
That is pretty much unavoidable in spin, haha. After a while your butt just gets numb and you can't feel it anymore. Or you can buy gel seat covers and carry them to class with you! That helps some.
ReplyDeleteI find the area around my hips so sore the next day after spin! x
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine in T.O. loves Fresh!! I haven't taken a spin class in a couple of years but I bet it is painful in a good way!!
ReplyDeleteI loved when shots happened for you. It made me question what was happening with my life/weekend. Spin is fun once you get the hang of it! I haven't been in close to a year but might have to get back in the saddle!
ReplyDeleteI literally drooled. Just from reading this I feel like I need to go to the gym though, ha! Looks like you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeletei laughed when i get your snap about spin class!
ReplyDeletek but actually i havent done spin but my friend did and said it killed her vagina and she hates bikes now. true story.
ReplyDeletealso, why does your life have so much delicious food!?
FEEEEEED MEEEEE. I'm sorry what were you saying.. something about spin class?
ReplyDeleteFrom all my years of taking and then teaching spin I always tell people it takes about 2-3 times and then your booty stops hurting...."toughens up" if you will ;-)
ReplyDeleteOkay these food pictures are making me sooo hungry and I just ate not too long ago :) Spin IS so hard! Especially when you're first starting I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteSoooooooo jealous of all of your delicious looking food!! Highlights from your weekend, for me through your pictures were... Wine.. I love wine, even if I'm watching video games and watching. (For some reason I like to watch people play video games more than play myself. Unless it's a really meaningless game then I don't. Must be a youngest in the birth order thing because my bro and sis always played the two players and then when they'd die I would play and I would die immediately and it would be their turn AGAIN. lol) I loved the table full of food but then I really liked the following day's menu. That burger.. my goodness I'm hungry just looking at it AND I just ate.
ReplyDeleteI've heard spin does AWESOME things for the body but I don't know if I'd last past the first 5 minutes! haha
ReplyDeleteWooohoo NYC shots! (I may have used mine already....) Looks like a great weekend with lots of yummy food. Haha my brother has been playing Assassins Creed since yesterday.
ReplyDeleteEverything in this post looks delish! I might need to head to Toronto just for a Tour de Food...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SPIN CLASS!!!!!! My butt was sore for a few days after too and it was like that for the first few classes but I eventually got used to. I did see a few ladies bring in their own bike seat to put over the one already on the bike and they said it helped a lot!!
