Friday.
Andrew and I celebrated his birthday at an amazing All-You-Can-Eat Brazilian Steakhouse. It was so good!
Way too much meat. Cool It Down! |
We were given a card (the Fire It Up! one) with a list of all the different types of meat that would be coming around to our table. When we needed a break, we would flip the card over to Cool It Down! (My apologies to any vegetarians I'm disgusting right now.) The Steakhouse also had the most amazing salad bar I'd ever seen and we definitely filled our plates with too much salad.
We enjoyed a show of Brazilian dancers and live music. It was wonderful.
By the end of the meal, we were stuffed. But I still had to get Andrew dessert. After all, it was his birthday!
Saturday.
On Saturday, I got the keys to our new apartment! After dinner on Friday, Andrew headed off to a military base for leadership training and was gone for the weekend (poor guy had to spend the weekend in a small tent), so it was up to me to get everything organized.
As small as our kitchen is, I love it. I'm also in love with the new place and can't wait until we get settled in.
We have our current apartment until the end of the month, so it'll be a slow process moving everything in.
That night, I celebrated Theresa's birthday with her and her friends at a local bar.
Sunday.
Misty approves! |
By Sunday, I realised how much I needed a car. There were a lot of things I wanted to bring over to the new place (which is a block away from my current place) which were just too heavy for me to carry by myself. Since Andrew was gone (with the car too), his brother came to my rescue (and brought Misty!). He took me to Canadian Tire where I bought more baskets, a toaster (bye bye toaster oven) and cupboard liners.
We brought a couple heavy boxes to the new place and I got Misty's seal-of-approval on the apartment.
After having a bite to eat together, we went our separate ways.
I went back to the apartment, where I proudly put in the cupboard and drawer liners. Look how pretty!
I ended the night with dinner at my aunt's. Look at that selection of appetizers, which she made herself! Seriously, my aunt makes the best food.
Andrew joined us in time for dinner and then we called it a night.
We have so much work to do - and actually work work to go to - so I may not blog as much over the next couple of weeks. The fact that I cut off my cable and internet and I'm waiting to get the new internet service set up is another reason. I'll try my best though!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Congrats on your new place! That's so exiting. It's nice you have the entire month to move, I ended up doing it all in one day which was crazy!
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, we went to a very similar type of restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday. We checked the menu and saw they had plenty of other things for me to eat, and everyone else could enjoy the "endless flaming meat on a stick" Haha.
Looks like such a nice place! As long as it's better than the current one :)
ReplyDeleteFood, you're killing me! The fire it up! reminds me of places in Louisiana. Because most of it is Cajun and southern food, there is ALOT of meats and different weird things. Every time we go into one of the restaurants down there my nose feels like its on fire!
yay im happy you got your new place! I know you said the other one was tiny! Btw that lip color looks awesome on you :) I went to a steakhouse like that 2 years ago and it was amazing! Had I known, i wouldnt have eaten the whole day to make room for all the meat.
ReplyDeletei likey!! happy bday to your bf :)

ReplyDeletei love those brazillian steakhouses that have been popping up, and their salad bars are surprisingly delicious! good luck with moving!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new place! i can't wait for a proper apartment tour. Sorry you and Andrew had to cut his birthday weekend short so he could go back to training :( xx
ReplyDeleteI've been here for like 3 years and I still haven't put in cupboard liners.
ReplyDeleteGood luck settling in!
I love that picture of you and Andrew! So so cute. :) And YAY apartment!! That's actually really nice that you can move everything slowly instead of being all rushed and stressed out about doing it in one weekend. Are you sleeping in the new place or old??
ReplyDeleteSo glad you two enjoyed dinner! How you both had room for desert?! Good luck moving! It's so nice that you have so long to prepare and get moved. I hope your new place has a BBQ or at least will let you have your own :)
ReplyDeleteNew follower!! You are adorable!!
