The Weekend of Bar Hopping and Air Shows

I don't know what Mother Nature was smoking this weekend, but she was clearly going through some crazy mood swings. One moment it would be beautiful and hot, the next it would be freezing and raining. This went on for the whole weekend and I wasn't impressed, to say the least. When the weather was actually nice, I tried to take advantage of it as much as possible. Since the beach was out of the question, the second best way to take advantage of it? Patios, of course.

Friday.

On Friday, Andrew came back from his military course, with his military certificate and all. Yay for him finishing his courses! To celebrate, we went out with Savio to the Bier Market.

Bier Market has the largest, and best selection, of beer. Mine tasted like apple juice. I'm not even kidding.

Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, Andrew had more military stuff to take care of, so Theresa and I started the bar hopping early.

When we finished our beers at one bar, we met up with Andrew and went out with him and some of his Officers to another bar, for another drink and appetizers.

After leaving his Officers, we met up with Jerome (and later, Theresa's boyfriend) and went to a little hole-in-the-wall dive in our area. We expected this place to be ghetto. $2 pints, with a pound of wings, and $3.95 ceasers? It sounded too good to be true, but we had to check it out.

Let me be the first to tell you that this place was nice! Despite the horse betting, that is. I also failed to take any pictures there though. Opps.

We ended the night at one last bar, where got stuck sitting beside a live band. Thankfully, the band was good, but I couldn't hear much on the way home.

Sunday.

After sleeping in forever on Sunday, Andrew and I went to an airshow about an hour away from our city. In another city. A city that was freezing!

After taking obligatory pictures by planes, I got to sit in the above plane to watch the rest of the airshow. It's nice having a boyfriend who's a pilot. He always ends up knowing more than a few people at these things and I get to benefit from it by staying warm.

My view of the Snow Birds coming back.

We even got to taxi back to the main apron (I have no idea if I'm saying that right) in this fancy ($800k) plane, which was pretty cool.

Andrew and I ended the night at this awesome restaurant that we had never seen before. I loved the decor of that place. And the food was really good! No beer this time though.

Did you have a warm weekend?

I'd also like to take a moment to wish my dear friend Kat a huge congratulations! Kat got engaged this weekend!! I can't believe how quickly we're growing up. I swear it was just a couple years ago that two of us were getting trouble at the back of our lecture hall for talking too much to each other during class.

  3. Looks like a fun weekend despite the odd weather! It was 90 here all weekend - nice, but a little too much continuous heat for me. (the air conditioner in my car has decided it only works when it wants to...not helping lol)

Congrats to Andrew for finishing his courses! The air show looks fun - lucky you getting to stay warm in the planes!
