What Have We Come To?

Last Thursday, not just one, but two innocent young girls took their lives after being sexually assaulted: Audrie Pott, 15, from California and Rehtaeh Parsons, 17, from Halifax.

Today, two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, taking the lives of at least two people and injuring many more.

My heart goes out to the families of these girls and anyone who may have lost someone, or knows someone, who was injured in today's tragedy.

I can only hope that events like this will no longer happen in our future. The world would be a better place if we could all just get along.

  1. This is so so sad. :( This was a tradition of Brian and his family's. To go to watch the marathon. They lived in a town that the runners ran though.

Brian was actually going to go today and I told him not to because he'd be alone since I wasnt going. He informed me a few minutes ago he was thinking about taking the train to the finish line....

  2. That is awful. a year or 2 ago we had several commit suicide here. I know from 4 mths experience bullying and all the bad things I've experience I see now why some people kill theirs-elves but me: I will never do it no matter how bad things get and how bad I may feel. There's other answers.

  3. Ugh I know. And it makes you feel stupid for enjoying everyday things in life when there is so much suffering going on in the world. :/

  4. it's one of those really hard days. I hate that they're happening so frequently. I think of this : "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (romans 12:21)

  6. It just makes no sense. Even if it did, it wouldn't comfort those affected. It's a horrible day for America, and a sad one.
