Long weekends are my favourite. Long weekends that involve
traveling to an amazing city and spending time with amazing people are a
dream come true. Be prepared for a picture heavy (and long) post as I
recap my weekend! There's even more pictures on my Instagram! @alexonig
Friday was uneventful. Let's skip ahead to Saturday.
Saturday.
Andrew and I woke up super early, pumped and ready to go to
NYC. We headed to the airport, met up with Jerome, then hopped into
Andrew's aircraft.
After a long flight of me complaining that I had to pee, we
successfully landed in NJ. A stop for food was mandatory.
Unfortunately, we took the locals advice on a place to eat at and it
wasn't very good. I was too excited for our next stop to really care
though.
After lunch, Andrew drove me to Elizabeth's house. She's
one of my favourite bloggers and I was so happy she invited me to stay
with her. Considering we had never met before, a part of me worried it
might be awkward. But, something only other bloggers can understand is
that, it wasn't awkward at all! I felt like I had known her forever and
we were just catching up things.
The boys left so we had the night to ourselves.
So, we went out for dinner.
Then got wine (and in typical blogger fashion, took pictures in the liquor store).
Then took selfies. They're necessary. Of course.
I made friends with Elizabeth's cat,
We then watched a movie and talked the night away. It was a perfect night.
Sunday.

Car selfies are also necessary. |
I was ready to play tourist. As were Andrew and Jerome. And Elizabeth!
We met up with the boys in the morning and headed off to Times Square.
We then hung out with Leo.
Had way too much fun hosting MTNY Entertaiment News.
Went up the Statue of Liberty.
Went down stairs to a fake subway.
Andrew and I starred in a Bollywood movie.
I agreed to be the first Canadian President (just kidding).
We hung out with the Obama's.
Then we got lunch.
With full bellies, we explored the Lego store.
Then toured the Rockefeller Center.
Went up to the top of it in a really cool elevator.
Then walked 20 blocks to go up to the top of the Empire State Building.
We were cold at times but it was all worth it. We warmed up
with a late dinner/snacks before calling it a night. A really good
night.
I said a tired bye to Elizabeth and spent the night at a hotel with Andrew and Jerome. At the hotel, we agreed that we would have to come back to NYC soon!
Monday.
Our intention was to leave early on Monday. But, we woke up
late and I wanted to go to Best Buy to buy the Google Chromecast and Jerome wanted to get the Google Chromebook. So,
off to a mall we went. Where we spent a really long time at. Particularly in
Target.
Of course, we couldn't leave before having one last awesome
meal in Queens at the Outback Steakhouse. $9.99 steaks? Um, yes please!

All the plastic bags on the cart are from Target. |
Eventually we made it to the airport and took off for home.
As amazing as NYC was, one of my favourite parts about this
weekend was that I got to meet Elizabeth. I never knew that blogging
about my life would lead me to some really awesome people; but I'm so
glad it has!
