I totally may have said this once or twice before. (GIF via) |
Here are 13 things "Girls" gets right about being in your 20s:
1. You have panic attacks about the future.
2. Being happy for your friends can be hard ...
3.... Especially when your own life is in shambles.
4. There's a lot of weird sex.
5. Your love life can be a big, blurry mess.
6. Almost everything feels like the end of the world.
7. Jobs can be really boring.
8. You grow apart from your friends.
9. There aren't responsible, loving adults protecting you anymore.
10. You use social media to make your life look more put together than it is.
11. You over-analyze everything.
12. You experience way too much self-doubt.
13. But at the end of the day, it's so much fun.
What do you think? Do you agree or disagree?
I agree with this 100%! I watch GIRLS and while Hannah drives me freaking crazy, most of the stuff is pretty spot on. And I've said that exact same thing to my parents many times. I've also reminded them how lucky they are that they got to raise me and not some of my friends who were highly dramatic, drinking at 14, sneaking out and raising hell. My parents don't know how good they had it with me lol.
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with girls. I always watch it, but then after I watch it I think to myself, "But did I actually enjoy watching that?!?" and for some reason I keep coming back. It's the train wreck principle I think... The thing is I identify with some of their problems and then majorly roll my eyes at others. I could only be friends with like 1 character, the others I would want to punch in the face. x
ReplyDeletethese are so true! love Girls :)
ReplyDelete#11 YES just yes. Everyday I over analyze things lol it's an awful habit. I haven't watched girls yet but I need to!
ReplyDeletehaha i need to start watching this show again!
ReplyDeletei really, really want to to start watching this show!
ReplyDeletesocial media didn't exist when I was in my twenties but the rest sounds about right. I still over-analyze just about everything, keeps me young though, right? :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! I totally agree. With so many life changes in my future (i.e. getting married, finding a place) I feel like I experience so many of these things on a daily basis! The only thing I have going for me is that my job isn't boring haha.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! #1, 8, 11 & 12 are currently happening on over drive. When do we get to have "it all figured out?"
ReplyDeleteOnly since a couple of weeks ago I heard about Girls... and since then... everyone is talking about this show! I guess I should start watching it! :)
ReplyDeletei love that meme you have at the top...lol, i've said that a bunch in the past. that show is amazing. i watched the whole first series marathon style and fell in love. i taped the second season back when i was pregnant and STILL have yet to watch it. i heard it wasn't as good as the first...but man, she is funny!

Girls is so accurate that I didn't like it at first. It was too uncomfortable and made me sooo glad I am no longer in my 20s. The show has really grown on me though, especially Adam.

I don't watch girls but this is so true!!!
ReplyDeleteHehe I've never seen the show - but so true!
ReplyDeleteI feel like some of those are true for me. But I think I grew up too fast in my twenties. I didn't get to really party and have tons of fun. That's okay though. I'm good!
ReplyDeleteYOU HAVE TO WATCH GIRLS. It's so good!
ReplyDeleteI've only seen the first two or three episodes and then I never kept watching it but YES, so much of this is true!
