My Top 10 Songs of 2013

First things first, thank you for the positive feedback on my post yesterday where I appealed to women to stop making their engagements annoying.

Now onto the good stuff. Here's my top ten of songs of 2013 (in no particular order)!

1. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors

Justin Timberlake came back this year. In case you didn't know, this was kind of a big deal. Suit & Tie was a great song but I think Mirrors topped it.

2. Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home

You can say whatever you want about Drake but, jokes aside, getting in touch with his emotional side helped him sell 658,000 copies of Nothing Was the Same in its first week. In other news, Drake is the type of guy who cuddles with a teddy bear to help him sleep at night.

3. Beyonce - Drunk in Love

Speaking of top selling albums, if you haven't heard that Beyonce surprised fans by releasing an album without any advertising beforehand, you've been living under rock. For the record, she did release a surprise album. Also for the record, it sold 828,773 copies in only three days. Just in time to make this list.

4. Katy Perry - Roar

This song was definitely a hit throughout the year. If you haven't heard Olivia Wise's cover of it (or know of her story) you need to listen to it. It's because of her that I had to have Katy on this list.

5. Ariana Grande - The Way

Confession: I used to watch Victorious. Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande were both in it and they were both fabulous.  Now that the show is over, they can focus on their singing careers. Ariana has been blowing people away with her amazing voice. I kid you not, she sounds just like Mariah Carey.

6. Jay Z featuring Justin Timberlake - Holy Grail

This song was so great because it focused on the love/hate relationship these two artists have for fame. Plus it's Jay Z and Justin Timberlake, so....

7. Demi Lovato - Heart Attack

This girl transformed herself this year and it's wonderful to see. She came back fighting as a strong artist that can let the haters go. Go Demi!

8. will.i.am feat Justin Bieber - #thatPOWER

Say what you want but I spent the whole summer singing and dancing to this song. It was a hit. Face it.

9. Lorde - Royals

As overplayed as this song is, it's a fantastic song. She's a strong and honest artist. We need more like her.

10. Rihanna - Stay

Besides her amazing performance in the video, critics alike rated this song well, despite critics wanting to dislike it.

The song that I disliked the most goes to Robin Thicke ft. T.I., Pharrell for Blurred Lines.

  9. Stay is one of my favorite Rihanna songs. I LOVED her back in 05-06 when she first came on the scene, then she kinda lost me. But this is definitely one of the best songs of the year -- I agree!

  10. I really, really can't with Roar. I like the meaning behind the song but it's annoying and I just don't like it as a song. I do, however, LOVE Dark Horse. But JT - YES. He brought sexy BACK this year! I've always been a huge fan of Drake so I'm glad to see him on the list. Also, Drake is the type of guy who licks his finger before turning the page.
