Did YOU Get Pranked?

We all know that yesterday was April 1st, also known as April Fool's Day. The day where people play silly pranks on each other.

I'm guilty of attempting to play a prank on someone: Andrew and I told our friend Jerome that we were still in Richmond, VA and we were stuck. Andrew was in a car accident, broke his leg and couldn't fly back. We couldn't afford the flight home either, and we needed him, of all people, to drive the 10 hours from Toronto to Richmond to pick us up and take us home.

Problem was, despite the fact that Jerome says he doesn't read my blog (don't kid yourself Jerome, I know this blog is your guilty pleasure), he had seen the blog post I wrote yesterday and knew I was full of it. Andrew and I were safe in Toronto, happily celebrating our anniversary.

The interwebz proved to have some really thought-out April Fool's Day pranks though.

Check out my top three:

3. WestJet Airlines

via
Every year, WestJet Airlines has a goofy April Fool's Day prank. The best, of course, was when they said they introduced child free cabins. Trust me, if you've ever been on a flight with noisy kids, you'd be cheering for child free cabins too.

This year, WestJet decided to ease the restrictions on pets in the cabin. Now you can bring any of your furry friends on board!

2. Google Nose

via
Google successfully pulled a fast one on me. Yes, I totally fell for this. Basically, Google Nose lets you search by scent. In hindsight, I realise how ridiculous that sounds. But, I kid you not, I had thought this up before Google ever introduced it, so I definitely thought it was real.

I went around the office telling everyone how cool it was. In return, I received chuckles. Finally, someone said to me, "Alex, what day is it today?"

Thanks, Google. You successfully made me look like an ass.

1. Lululemon Leather Yoga Wear

via
If you hadn't heard about this yet, Lululemon sure stirred up some controversy.

They put a very believable looking video out, advertising leather yoga pants and yoga mats. They even go into great detail about the cows they use for it all.

If you were able to tell that it's JUST an April Fool's Day joke, it's actually quite funny. See for yourself:

Do you think Lululemon overdid it?

  2. I don't think Lululemon overdid it. Personally,I think that is super funny! Great pranks. They sure beat the dumb "I'm pregnant" that is all over Facebook on 4/1 every.year.

  3. Haha...I tweeted that I had a $1k CASH giveaway on the blog. One person fell for it. Then when I was checking my Google Analytics' Live location view, I had 41 people looking at my blog...from the International Space Station control room. Nice play, Google. Nice play. LOL!

  4. Haha I love these! Google nose is so funny. Surprisingly = only two people on my Facebook pulled jokes...and to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did them! From what i saw/heard for alot of others, this year seemed to be a pregnancy joke year..

  6. This post was awesome and super entertaining! I actually forgot about April Fool's so I probably would have fallen for these.

I love the idea of a kids free cabin on a plane. I would actually pay more for that. I would pay more for kids-free everything. I know it's horrible, and I love my niece more than anything, but everyone else's kids? Not so much.

    Great post. :-)
