From Fatass to Badass

"Nobody's gonna see me comin'
Nobody's gonna hear a sound.
No matter how hard they tryin'
No stoppin' me since I've found
My inner ninja."
- Classified, Inner Ninja
(I'm pretty sure a kid that I taught a few years ago is in that music video. Now, I could be wrong, but I have no idea how to find out if I am or not.)

Andrew and I have made the conscious decision to start eating better and taking care of our health. As you probably know by now, I joined Goodlife Fitness at the end of November and I've been pretty good at going consistently. But, what's the point of going if I'm just going to eat like crap when I get home (tub of Haagen Dazs Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, I'm looking at you).

We went on a Gluten-Free Diet a while back and actually noticed significant differences to our energy levels and all that other good stuff. But, we somehow fell off that wagon. Something about going out too often and pounding back a few beers with our pound of wings and greasy fries just seemed so appealing. This has got to stop though!

As of today, Andrew is officially on the Fatass to Badass Program. I'm seriously not being paid to say this, but I've heard it really works. I'll keep you all updated on his progress. He's got a specific workout to follow, but I'm going to stick my own workout of randomness (while enjoying most of the food from his program and a bit of my own meals). It should be noted that the Fatass to Badass Program is designed for men/guys. I'm not sure why this is. Possibly because of all the protein recommended in the diet. So while he does that program, I'll do my own.

Fatass to Badass also provides a strict meal schedule with its workout routines, recipes and all (hence all the protein recommended). You bet these meals are super healthy!

Andrew stayed up late last night making his breakfast, lunch and dinner - and snacks - for today. Here's the chicken salad he made for dinner.

Chicken Salad

Chicken Breast, cooked (135 grams)
1 tbsp of Olive Oil
Spinach
Green Peppers
Lemon, sea salt, black pepper, red chili flakes

Mix them all together and voila!

You can make this hot by cooking them all in the pan with the chicken or make it cold by cooking the chicken, removing it from the pan and adding everything together in a bowl.

    1. I'm excited to see how it works for him too! I know what you mean about Taco Bell. I love that place! So yummy. And so cheap! But, despite their arguments, I still have my doubts about their meat being 100% real beef. Hmm.

  3. I feel you, girl. I've always made it a point to be active and move around but I struggle with eating healthy. I usually eat pretty well during the weekdays but find that the weekends can get out of control. It's always easier when both my husband and I are "dieting" at the same time!

    1. I totally agree! It's so much easier during the weekdays to control what we're eating, but the weekend hits, we want to go out and tend to stray from the "healthier" options on menus. We're going to try to stop eating out for a while.
